During the first lockdown in the spring of 2020, I did many sketches of the valley from the hill above my house. Visually it was unchanged by these strange circumstances, but, with virtually no cars on the road, it was quiet and peaceful. As I painted this watercolour all I could hear was the wind in the heather and the skylark singing its way to the zenith.
